The engine is suitable for all commercial duties and with the optional gear driven hydraulic pump is particularly suited to inshore fishing vessels and small workboats.
The long life expectancy of this engine makes it an attractive choice to the discerning pleasure boat owner where the unit is suited to a wide range of applications including sailing and power cruisers as well as barges and inland waterways
boats.

As with all Mermaid engines a range of gearboxes are available including, PRM, Borg Warner, Twin Disc, and Hurth/ZF.
Reduction ratios from 1:1 to 3:1 are available using these transmissions
